Catching Up On Old News - Desert Classic

When I am out of town I usually fall behind on dart news. I was interested to read the reports on the Las Vegas Desert Classic, which took place a week ago. Phil Taylor continued his excellent form to defeat James Wade in the final. The PDC has a detailed account, documenting Taylor's sensational 105 per turn average.

The furthest American in the competition was Pennsylvania's Darin Young, who progressed to the final 16. Darin lost a close match to Mervyn King, by a score of 8-6 with both players averaging over 90 per turn. Philadelphia's Bill Davis lost a nail-biter in the top 32 to Mark Walsh, by a score of 6-5. Roger Carter from Georgia didn't make it through the qualifiers, but hit a perfect nine dart 501 game, for which much congratulations are due. Judging from the reports it was a great week of darts in Las Vegas.
